We are a
group of young Spaniards with a huge desire to help, who have decided to join
forces and knowledge in order to create Más Por Ellos (More for Them), a new
concept of NGO.
We want to
promote a sustainable development within the neighborhood of Kibera (Nairobi),
and we will do this basing our project on two pillars; a sponsorship program
and a social enterprise program (or social entrepreneurship). This way we are
covering all the necessary aspects needed to improve the quality of life of
those whom we want to help: education,
which is necessary in order to create a business
which can give them autonomy and an self sufficient economy. These projects
will grow through our interconnecting platform which will put sponsors in
contact with those being sponsored.
We are
different from the rest of NGOs in the way that we have taken the best from an
NGO and the best from a corporative enterprise and we have created Más Por
Ellos. Our goal is to be a totally transparent non-lucrative organization,
created with the aim of promoting the development of an area which at the same
time will be economically viable and won’t depend on donations. For this, we
are going to create a network of social enterprises. A social enterprise is that
which looks for both the economical and social benefit. These enterprises will help us cover costs of
the sponsorship program.
